COVID-19 GUIDELINES & PROTOCOL

As of June 1, 2020 at 12:00pm, Flex Appeal Fitness is OPEN FOR BUSINESS!

We want to sincerely thank you all for your support during this time. We’ve appreciated all of you who joined us in our live Zoom workouts, made donations for those Zoom workouts, messaged us in support, sent new members our way, shared our posts, and the list goes on. You’ve solidified why we do what we do. This place is a second home to so many and while we wish this shutdown wouldn’t have happened, it completely filled our hearts to hear how many people missed being here. We can’t wait to find our new normal with you all. We ask that, no matter what your opinion is on COVID-19, you follow our guidelines. They are in place to keep our members, our staff and our own family as safe as possible. We can’t wait to see you in person again! Stay safe and let’s get after it 💪🏼

What we are doing to keep you safe.

  • Follow a checklist for a regular cleaning and disinfecting schedule during open hours & increase deep disinfecting/cleaning procedures for all areas of the gym.
  • Assign a designated time slot each week (the day may vary week to week but it will be posted in advance on our Facebook page as well as communicated by email to our members) that we will be closed for deep cleaning procedures including but not limited to: wipe down and disinfecting of all equipment, vacuum and mopping floors, deep clean of the most high traffic areas. 
  • Clean door handles and outside scanner after each client enters the building during staffed hours.
  • Increase the number of cleaning/sanitation supply stations.
  • Increase signage with instructions on how to properly clean equipment including bathroom signage.

Temporary Changes/Restrictions

  • First and foremost, if you are experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms (including a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, muscle aches, diarrhea, nausea, loss of taste or smell) STAY HOME! If you are sick, stay home. If you have a temperature, stay home. If someone in your house is sick, stay home. If you have allergies and can’t control sneezing, stay home. Please understand that ANY set back or confirmed case of COVID-19 by someone who has been in our facility will cause another shutdown so please be cautious and respectful!
  • On your first visit, ALL members must sign a new COVID-19 waiver addendum. This MUST be completed before beginning any exercise. No exceptions.
  • EVERY TIME YOU ENTER & LEAVE THE GYM, PLEASE WASH OR SANITIZE YOUR HANDS! There is a sanitizer station right inside the front door for your convenience.
  • When entering the gym for a class, please bring MINIMAL personal belongings with you. For example, only your keys and a water bottle. Keeping personal belongings to a minimum helps to create more space between members’ belongings and lowers your risk of getting germs on your personal items.
  • No gym towels will be provided at this time – please plan to bring your own CLEAN towel from home. NOTE: PERSONAL TOWELS CANNOT BE USED TO WIPE DOWN/SANITIZE GYM EQUIPMENT. Please use the sanitizer wipes or paper towels & spray bottles for wiping down equipment.
  • Equipment is to be wiped down BEFORE & AFTER each use using a fresh wipe/paper towel each time. One wipe/paper towel per item you wipe down. Please dispose of them properly in trash cans provided.
  • No self-serve retail sales will be permitted. Sales will only be available when staff is present. This includes water. Please plan to bring your own.
  • Fans will not be available for use at this time due to the possibility of blowing sweat/saliva/bodily fluids from one member to another.
  • Absolutely no guests of members will be allowed at this time – those with gym memberships will only be allowed for now so we can be sure that everyone is properly given the new rules/cleaning guidelines – if you know someone who might like to join, please have them contact us directly. Also no day passes will be allowed at this time.
  • No guests also means no children. No children will be allowed to sit and wait while you workout. This applies to open gym members and group class attendees.
  • The taped off squares on the floor of the gym are there for group classes but we encourage anyone working out to grab a square and keep yourself and the equipment you are using inside of it in order to keep your distance from other members.
  • Please note that equipment may temporarily be moved around in order to accommodate social distancing.
  • Please continue to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer frequently while in our facility.
  • When walking through the facility, maintain a distance of at least six feet from other members and employees if at all possible.
  • Plan your workout routine ahead of time to avoid lingering and socializing. This will allow more members to work out given the reduced occupancy necessitated by distancing requirements.
  • Limit the items you touch within the gym to only the items you will use.
  • Wear a mask as you enter and leave the building. Consider wearing a mask during your workout. (This is a WEDC Best Practices recommendation. We are not enforcing mask wearing during workouts, we are simply including it in our recommendations for the most protection.) 
  • Avoid using lifting gloves or other personal items that are not easily cleaned.
  • Wipe down each piece of equipment BEFORE & AFTER you use it, using a fresh wipe each time, and dispose of the wipes appropriately in trash cans provided. ONE WIPE/PAPER TOWEL PER ITEM YOU WIPE DOWN!
  • Wash your hands before and after you leave the facility. If it is not possible to wash your hands, use hand sanitizer (of at least 60% alcohol) when you enter and before you leave.
  • If you get the urge to sneeze or cough, put on your mask (if not already wearing one) and cover your nose, mouth and mask with a napkin or handkerchief. Wash your hands and face thoroughly before returning to your activity.
  • Flex Appeal Fitness LLC reserves the right to refuse service to anyone exhibiting symptoms or not following facility guidelines.

Group Classes

  • Group classes will be capped at (6) SIX people. No exceptions. Please utilize our Schedulicity app to reserve your spot. All others past the first 6 will go on a wait list, and be offered a spot in the order they are signed up should any spots open.
    • Please be respectful of this rule – we currently have no fees for no show/no cancels and we hope to keep it that way. If you are not able to attend the class you signed up for, please try to give us as much notice as possible (preferably one hour) so we are able to offer your spot to someone else.

  • All group classes will be designed to NOT share ANY equipment.
  • Each member will have their own area to stay in for the workout and should remain there as much as possible to avoid contact with other members/instructors.

Open Gym

  • For the time being, open gym hours will be limited to (10) TEN members at one time (this will be reduced during group class times depending on how many class attendees we have). We are also limiting each member’s time in the gym to 1.5 hour time slots. This will allow for best social distancing practices and allow as many people as possible to use the gym throughout the day. How this will work:
    • You MUST check-in with us, either by Facebook messenger or by text message (608-386-0752) at least 30 minutes BEFORE going into the gym. You may reserve your gym time up to 24 hours in advance. If you plan to go in the next day early in the morning, you can message us the night before. We will also be continuously checking the cameras and scan log to ensure capacity stays at a maximum of 10 people.
    • Your 1.5 hour time slot will begin when you scan your key card in. Please be respectful of this rule and do not go over your allotted time. 
    • IMPORTANT: If you come with a family member who is also a member, EACH PERSON MUST SCAN THEIR KEY CARD. This rule should always be followed but especially now. This will help with tracking purposes should a COVID-19 case need to be tracked from our facility.

Whether you’re a regular class go-er, or plan to start attending classes, Schedulicity can help you plan out your workouts for the week and stay on track to meet all your health and fitness goals! To download, please follow the steps below…

1. Go to your Apple or Android App Store.
2. Search “Schedulicity” (you will notice the 3 colored boxes in the logo like on the photo above). Download the app.
3. Once you open the app, click “Sign In” – on the next screen, you will be asked to enter your email.
4. The following screen will ask for your name, phone number and email.
5. Then from there, you can put in a profile picture if you wish. Or you can skip that step.
6. Next, you will hit the “Explore” button on the bottom left hand corner.
7. Search for “Flex Appeal Fitness” and once you find us, you can see all of our upcoming classes and book your spot!

Please remember that we will cancel any group classes, one hour prior to the start time, if we do not have a minimum of 3 people signed up. So be sure to sign up for any classes you plan to attend; and if possible, remove yourself if you will not be able to make it. Please message us if you have any questions!! If you need help downloading or navigating the app, please feel free to message us that you are attending class and we can help you when you get to the gym!!
